Packwood House

On the 20th May 2011, gardening club went to Packwood House. We planted lots of plants which will be displayed to the public. So, here is what we did . . .

What we did

Firstly, when we got to Packwood House, we met Mic and Ann, the gardeners and we talked about the school gardens and the kitchen gardens at Packwood. Then we went into the kitchen gardens, which looked really different with lots of beautiful and new plants, and there we got assigned a number from 1 to 12. After that, we split into three groups with our special numbers and moved into our plots. Our group planted giant sunflowers, gourds and cup and saucer plants first, whilst Mic's group planted courgettes, dwarf sunflowers and nasturtiums, while the other group planted dahlias.

After we had swapped over two more times, we decided that it was time for lunch.

For lunch, we went up to one of the many play glades at Packwood House. When we got to the play glade we found out that it was not only a place to eat our lunch, but also a place to have fun! There was hoopla, tree trunks to climb on and they even had musical logs. So we played until it was time to go.

Overall we had the best time ever at Packwood House and it is a great privilege to be going. So thank you to all the adults that came. I hope people will visit Packwood House and see all our hard work.
