Literacy
We looked at a piece of writing from the Lord of the rings when the hobbits meet Treebeard. Year 6 then created their very own tree characters and thought of the best way to portray them to the rest of the class. Dancing, rapping, acting. You name it they did it!
The Victorians
Linked to our topic on Victorian inventors we looked at Alexander Graham Bell and made our own telephones! They worked! We then looked at the use of semaphores and how tricky it can be. With our partners standing across the other side of the field, we signalled to them and they had to guess what it was!
