A wide range of school uniform is available to purchase from Early Years on the Stratford Road.  Children are required to wear uniform throughout their attendance at school.  We encourage the children to take a pride in their appearance, within school, on visits and on their way to and from school as they are our representatives.  It is a tribute to them that positive comments are generally made when they visit places and we are favourably received because of their good manners and presentation. 

We would ask that parents ensure all school items are clearly named as we cannot guarantee that lost items will be returned to the correct child.

BOYS
Grey trousers (jeans must NOT be worn)
White shirt [tucked in]
School tie (gold and navy-blue stripes) [done up]
Navy-blue pullover
Logo’d school sweatshirt (v neck or round neck)
Grey socks or white socks (plain NOT patterned)
Dark coloured shoes (trainers are not allowed)
White polo shirt (logo optional) can be worn if preferred – no tie.
GIRLS
Grey or navy-blue skirt or grey or navy-blue pinafore dress
Navy trousers (jeans must not be worn)  or cullottes

Dark coloured shoes or sandals (fashion shoes with high block heels are not appropriate for school as they are unsafe for playground activities)

JEWELLERY POLICY

Children are allowed to wear a watch, earrings and any other jewellery that has a recognised religious significance to school.  Earrings should take the form of either studs or sleepers.  These cannot be worn for any physical activity, such as PE or swimming in the interests of the child’s health and safety.  Please note that staff are not allowed to remove these and that we accept no responsibility for the safekeeping of any item.  Neither do we provide or accept the wearing of tape or plasters over them. 

Therefore on days when your child does planned physical activity, either in or out of school we would ask that such items are not worn.  Should your child not be able to
remove the earrings themselves, they will not be allowed to participate.  If this is repeated again, the class teacher will ask parents in to school to discuss the matter further.  Details of when your child does planned physical activity in school will be in their home-school diaries.  Should this not be the case, please check with your child’s class teacher.

We would also encourage parents not to have children’s ears pierced during the school year, given the difficulties in keeping the area clean, free from infection and removing the earring.  We would strongly recommend that the first week of the summer holidays is the best time for this to happen, giving the wound time to heal before school recommences.
