At Sharmans we believe all pupils are capable of excellence and our aim is to raise
standards throughout the school for all pupils, including those with special
educational needs. The underlying principle of this is that every pupil has the right to
an excellent education. We believe in equality of opportunity and will combat
discrimination and prejudice on the grounds of ethnicity, gender and disability. All
staff are involved with the development of the school’s SEN policy and are aware of
the school’s procedures for the identification, assessing and monitoring of pupils on
the SEN Register creating a fully inclusive environment for all. The SENCO, Miss
Turley, in close co-operation with the rest of the staff is responsible for the day-to-
day operation, the monitoring of the policy and coordination of the provision for
pupils with SEN.
BEHAVIOUR
“The school has an effective system of rewards and sanctions and the great majority of parents, carers and pupils are
confident that their children are safe” Ofsted 2012
We aim to provide a caring, stimulating and happy environment where each child is
encouraged to work to the best of his/her ability, to respect each other and care
for the school.
To achieve these high expectations all children will be encouraged to: -
a)
Listen to the viewpoint and opinions of others.
b) Have respect for other people.
c) Have respect for their own property and that of others.
d) Value the school environment.
e) Understand and accept the rules laid down to ensure the safety of everyone.
f)
Be courteous and well mannered at all times.
Should your child’s behaviour be a cause of concern to us, we will ask you to come in
to school to discuss the situation.
